Practical Details

People often have practical questions as they consider reaching out for therapy. The information below is meant to offer clarity around structure, fees, and logistics, and to help you decide whether exploring treatment further feels right for you.

Initial Consultation

Treatment begins with an initial consultation to understand what brings you in and to consider whether working together might be helpful. This meeting is also a space to ask questions and to discuss practical matters, including structure, frequency, and fees, so decisions can be made thoughtfully and without pressure.

Scheduling & Location

Frequency and structure vary and are discussed collaboratively during the initial consultation. Treatment may take place in person or via telehealth. In-person treatment is offered in San Diego, California, with telehealth available to individuals located in California, Oregon, Idaho, Illinois, and Virginia, in accordance with state regulations.

Fees

Fees are discussed during the initial consultation and are based on the nature, frequency, and structure of the work. Different forms of treatment involve different clinical frames, which are taken into account when determining fees. The goal is to establish an arrangement that feels workable and sustainable.

Insurance

I do not participate directly with insurance plans. Many people choose this model because it allows the work to remain private, consistent, and clinically driven. For those with out-of-network mental health benefits, documentation can be provided for possible reimbursement, depending on the terms of an individual plan.
